the hard drive crashed and the air-conditioner is coming down
Good morning all.... well figured it was perfect time to update, being that its almost 5 am and i am still awake and theres nothing else to do..... we are about 75% finished with what will be the next LIB album and i have never been more excited... all is recorded except vocals and overdubbing/percussion. we managed to get 13 songs down, 11 will make the final cut. A few of these songs are titled; Expanding Universe, Tomorrow is, Kick it in, Angels and Demons, Something to believe in, From Jersey with Love, and Your Sweetness.... man all i can say about these songs is they totally rule!!! Being in the studio has been for the most part so much fun, but from time to time it can get really boring being stuck in a room with no windows for 10 hours a day while someones is tracking so heres a brief list of what has kept us busy while in beautiful Maryland.. Music: Manic Street Preachers Morrisey Muse Good Life Cooper Temple Claus The Break (new record will blow your mind) Loretta Lynn The Cardigans Franz Ferdinand new hot water music when we are lucky enough to get a sneak preview Movies: Troy 21 Grams Girl with a Pearl Earing Euro-Trip Ichi The Killer Bowling For Columbine and anything with Mandy Moore (Chasing Liberty, How to Deal.. ect) TV: WB Superstar Conan O'Brien Every sunday MTV show (wild boys, pimp my ride.. ect) Chappel's Show ok so there you have it... thats how 4 dudes in there 20's keep busy while making a record... ok next time we speak the record will be done... cant wait values*** | | Thursday, May 20th, 2004 | | 4:25 am |
SQUIZNOS...............GNARLY
Its now 4:26am and i figured it would be a good time to update everyone on our progress...... so like you probably know by now we are in teh studio in College Park, MD with producer and long time LIB Bud, Matt Squire..... we have been down here for about a week and just finished the pre-producing on the new stuff and tomorrow we start to actually record.... 14 songs in total, 11 for the album and a few b-sides for future box-sets... (just kidding) anyway what can i say about the songs thus far...??? well in the past two days i have heard the bands Guns and Roses and The Verve referenced in describing the sound of some of the songs, so they definatly have a bit a different feel than older stuff.... but dont worry they are plenty of traditional LIB rockers..... right now thats about all i can say.. like i said we havent even recorded one beat yet so only time will tell... all i can say is we are having a blast and cant wait for everyone to hear the new shit...... ok its now 4:34 i should go to bed.... more to come***Values | | Monday, May 3rd, 2004 | | 12:49 am |

Hello Hello! Alright ALOT has been happening since D.J. updated this two and a half weeks ago. I thought I updated it a week ago in Fargo, but it didn't work for some reason. Since then we went through the north where everyday has been negative some thing. In Minnisota it was minus 30 degrees which was by far the coldest. Umm whatelse has happened, ok we had a couple days off, went to the mall of America where we found a pamphlet for a casino near by. So we went there, i won $75 , but Dave Cool(driver/cameraman/drinker/hatwearer) won $500 dollars in less then half and hour in video roulette. After that, we went to Fargo. Fargo was awsome, stayed with our new bud Karen in her huge apartment, Pete got a new pair of pants at a party we went to, (that look like something like knight armor.) So, nonetheless Fargo was a good time. Next, we drove too Glendive, Montana. Holy Shit, probably the second best show of the whole tour,(next to louisville). It was like an all day event-type-thing with some dude tattooing, BMXers and bands. Thanks again to the people up there for being so fuckin' cool, will definitely be back there soon. Soooooooo, then we had two days off drove to Salt Lake City where we met up with Pete's old friend Amy, and her roommmate Wendy, who took us out for some awesome seafood and then we watched the grammy's together. Very Fun day, but then we had to drive through the night to San Francisco to meet the Dutch boy himself, KELLY!!!! On the way stopped in Reno where everyone there is crazy. Oh yeah Dave, DJ and I went to the casino really quick. Me, not being old enough, in Nevada to gamble was out and DJ, being a broke ass, was out too, so dave was the only won gambling. Not even being there for ten minutes, Dave won $800. He hit everytime. So we quickly left the first time he lost. Umm so then we picked K-Bones up from the airport in San Francisco, and drove down to San Louis Obispo where we met up with the Souls, Hot Water Music, and Randy. We got a hotel room that night, so we were there on time. Ok, so we go to the gas station down the street to get our oil changed. It's DJ, Pete, Me , Dave, Sharon, and Kelly, sitting on this waist high wall in between the gas station and a taco bell parking lot. We're just sitting there, enjoying the sun, which we haven't seen in a couple weeks, when all of a sudden I look over and there this fucking lady pointing a gun at us, telling us to put are hands on our heads. So instantly I started to laugh as I thought this was a joke. And she started yelling, "Put your hands up!" So no one is taking her seriously besides Sharon. So, now there's a crowd gathering, watching six funny looking out-of-town people with their hands on their heads. She tells Dave to come closer and lay on the ground when another cop shows up. The crazy bitch, with the gun still drawn, walks over and starts asking Dave all these questions. Someone had called the cops and said that there was A man with a gun. The gun they saw was actually Dave's belt buckle, A replica of an old derringer pistol. She said, "I assumed that the gun on your belt was real," DJ then proceeds to say to her, "Just because there is a building on your badge doesn't mean I assumed you had a real building on it." This pissed her the fuck off, and she threatened to ruin DJ's day for being a wise ass to a cop. The other cop turned out to be a lot cooler than the lady and explained everything, (without being a dick) and let us go on our way. So, we got to the club, met up with everyone else on the tour, bro-ed down with the people we knew. The show was awesome, (besides the sound guy being a douche bag), and the fact that we were supposed to stay with these girls after the show for getting them in for free to the sold out show but they totally dicked us over. We found a place anyway so fuck them. Then last night we played Santa Cruz, which was also a fuckin awesome time. Which leads me to writing this in our new friend Teresa's dorm room filled with '80s posters. I gotta go brush my teeth-- sportlife no more. Hopefully I can update this sooner than later. Sorry this entry isn't very witty, but there was a lot to talk about. Alright. xoxox TIM ps-here's a link to some pictures our boy Brian took in Dayton, OH. Politicians take note, Hogs can't vote
Hello all..... so we are one week into the tour and it has been, like expected, interesting..... We started off in NYC and made our way through the snowy Pennsylvanian turnpike to beautiful Dayton Ohio...... there we joined forces with our old friends When Sparks Fly for a couple of shows. Two shows in Dayton went really well, but the show in Louisville was amazing... 200+ kids singing every word was exactly what I needed after a 5 hour drive of puking in a box (yes I was a little sick). After leaving the boys in OH we headed of on our own for the next week through the frozen tundra of northern America..... Iowa city was our next stop and proved to be very cool..... yesterday was a day off and in true LIB style we pulled one out of our ass and managed to arrange a show at the same venue. Yesterdays show had a little twist, since we jumped on the show we had to adjust to the situation ... the situation was an acoustic show...... a very interesting and unexpected experience it was ... the set was compiled of covers of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, The Stones, and The Boss..also a few originals..... it was awesome ... and don't worry we will put footage up on the site soon... So I guess that brings us up to date..... now as I sit here in a Super 8 in Bloomington, MN we prepare for the real exciting part of our trip..... the journey from Minnesota through ND, MT and down to the Rockys and ending in San Francisco..... the weather calls for lots and lots of snow and temperatures as low as -20F...... lets hope for the best DJ Values | | Monday, October 13th, 2003 | | 12:25 pm |
Fuck Yeah Bro !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now we come to a close. the European part of the "CPWYS" tour is now officially in the books. Despite all the trouble we had with booking it still turned out to be all right. We meet so many cool people and saw some amazing things so there's no need to complain now.... After our little Italian disaster the tour ended really solid..... with awesome shows in Dresden, Munster, Chemnitz, Nunchritz and Kortrijk..... Dresden was with out a doubt the best show of the tour (all you east Germans get a pat on the back for that one) Kortrijk was also very interesting considering we were the only none metal/mosh band at a 13 band festival.... thanx to all the kids in Belgium for giving us a chance, especially our new friends in Walls of Jerico... so i guess thats it for now. tomorrow we fly home for 10 days of much needed rest, then we do it all over again in the US. This tour should be full of as many surprises if not more so i guess we will see you soon..... finally the following people deserve our utmost thanx and appreciation for all their help along the way... Kelly "K-bone", Rudee "Rudawg", Casey K-oss, Jeroen, Burt Andre Anja and Marcel in east Germany(ich liebe dich!), Kaj and Umea, Lins and Lynsie (the best place we stayed all tour), RIFU, 9 Shocks Terror, Rico and the 4 Sivits, and last but not least Birkir and all the great people of Reykjavik...... to all of you i say THANX/TAK/DANKE/DANK U WEL/CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!! Go Frig Yourself
Dutten Tag from Germany..... DJ here and once again theres a lot to write. Since we last wrote we have played only one scheduled show in the past 2 weeks. Luckily due to some old friends the extraordinary help of Rudee and Kelly we managed to turn a disaster into a half way desent tour.... I would like to take this time to call attention to a serious problem. As many of you probaly noticed we were scheduled to play 6 days in Italy (oct 1- oct 5). Due to total and utter disregard by the Italian booking agent Roberto we had one show, lost hundreds of dollars and basically had our whole european tour ruined. Roberto was emailed numerous times by our tour manager in the weeks leading up to the italian dates, to which he never replied. Upon arrival in Italy at the first show we stuck in Italy for 5 days with no shows, no place to stay and no food. Most importantly to us not one single kid in Italy ever got to see us play......finally the reason i am taking the time to write all of this is to help ensure this does not happen to anyone else in the future. I encourage anyone who may have subsequently missed us in Italy or anyone who just thinks this is fucked up to email this fucking prick at robegagl@tin.it . Also check out www.hellnation.it (this is his record store) and tell him how you feel. I can not emphasize enough the damage that was done to our entire tour because of this. Thanx for listening.......... On a lighter note heres Tim for some fun facts about the past two weeks... DJ Values ========== Alright now for the "fun" stuff. Since the last run down of shows there has been a lot of shit that has happened. Grahms missing, Sharons pregnant with a czech love child, and Pete got caught peeing in the van while he was drunk. Well actually only one of those things is true (gues which one) but a lot has happened so here we go: Sept.26 Sint-Niklaas, Belgium- Alright, let me think what happened. Umm ok so we got to the show after like an hour drive from the Hedge. Played a little frisbee before hand. Casey was sick. Good show all around. Met the infamous Jonas for the first time, then after the show going to get kabab fucken DJ threw the frissbee over some fucken giant wall next to the club and that the end of frissbee number one. Sept.27 Halle, Germany- Drove for fucken ever it felt like to come to a huge squat called La Bim Walked around town for a while got some ice cream, had a stick fight. Then found out that a couple of shows got fucked up so we didnt have a show the next day right then Andre, Burt, Macel, and Anya (im sorry if i spelt that wrong)a bunch of DJ and Sharons friends from past tours and experiences showed up to come to the show. After telling them about the things getting fucked up with the shows and jazz there gonna hook us up with a show tomrrow which is beyond just helping us our. oh yeah played the show which was fucken insane, best show of the tour crowd reaction wise. Sept. 28 Doblen, Germany- Got to the show at the cafe, met Andre and Burt there ate some of the best vegan food i ever had (even though im not vegan nor vegetarian but who gives a fuck). Casey and K-Bones had a heated game of chess before hand leading Kelly to the W i think. For a show that was put together not even 24 hours a head of time turned out to be fucken awsome. Again we cant thanks Andre, Burt and them enough for really saving are asses. Sept. 29 Budapest, Hungrey- Today we had a fucken long drive a head of us. We drove threw Czech Republic where there are are all these tourest stands run by these crazy asians selling anything you could think of. Pete bought a carton of cigarretts for 13 euro, i bought a eminem shirt for 5 euro which i talked down from 15 so i guess i had to get it even though i dont even like eminem but its a killer shirt with his face and a huge pot leaf in the back. Then D-Luv needed something so he got a David Beckham jersez for 7 euro, but when he gave the guy the money the guy wouldnt give him the shirt and said dj needed to give him 5 more euro. So DJ stole the shirt back, then almost got beat with a stick from him until the guy said he could go if he gave Sharon a kiss, so after a quick kiss we left with all are fingers and a lot of stupid shit. Alright so we got to the show pretty late cause the street we needed was closed off, but K-Bones hooked it up. After finding out some funny business from the club was doing to the kid promoting it we played a pretty awsome show even though the club had been telling people the show had been canceled. Good Shit anyway. Sept. 30 Innsbruck, Austria- Alright this is another show we got last minute in Austria. Showed up to the show walked around, crazy city in the middle of the mountains where the olympics where in the 70s. umm umm met some awsome nordic band called Rifu. Who again hooked us up and are playing the next two shows with them two. Show was really good, stayed at some dirty squat like normal after the show. Oct. 1 Schwyz, Switzerland- Holy Shit. This show was in the middle of fucken no where. Im not even joking. It was in some field next to a fucken mountain of fucken logs. Show was good, Casey fucked shit up in Gin Rummy and thats about it. Oct. 2 Schopfheim, Germany- Last day with Rifu. Ate some good ice cream. Then played which was an awsome show. Then after words Rappin Rodney aka Rutger aka Rude Dawg was walking threw the club and some bro bumped into him and tried to start a fight for no reason so the kid gets thrown out and we go to walk outside and homeboy is out there with about 25 of his crazy Russian friends. So fuck. Then after a little while of yelling they left and we went to bed. Oct. 3 Vignola, Italy- So if you made it this far you probly already read the top thing so theres no reason to go over that shit again, but we did play two shows. When we got into Italy the first rest stop we pulled into we found a new frissbee since dj lost the last one. Got to some fucked up ass bulding played a quick game of ultimate, played, Casey almost go beat up by some fucken crazy Marocan dudes but other then that nothing. Fuck im tired i dont feel like doing this anymore today so ill update the last couple ones tomorrow or later. Alright. Tim | | Friday, September 26th, 2003 | | 2:26 pm |
Pedersen says "Go for the Knobber"
Hello Hello, sorry for the lack of updates of this thing, but when your sailing through Europe in a van and in a differnt place everyday it’s hard to find the time to get to a computer and update this thing. So I have the pleasure (or displeasure) of updating it today. It’s been so long and so much has happened I’ll try my best to remember everything so far. 9/12- Ok, we played in Sandviken, Sweden with some metal band from America and I can’t remember there name, but there drummer sang and played the drums. They had a ping pong table in the basement of the place and me and D-Love fucked everyone up in it. 9/13- Next day we played in Gislaved, it was a fucking awesome show. It was in some community center where they also have plays so me, DJ and Sharon dressed up as the wizard of oz (maybe you will see the pictures soon). Um, we also met some dude who was drunk as fuck at the show who tried to explain how where we where is was like being in Kentucky( yeah I don’t understand either) then later we found out from our new boy, Ted the soundguy, beat him up. So that was that. 9/14-Gothenborg. Played like on the fifth floor of some building in the middle of two movie theatres. Good show also. Other then that are last day in Sweden, hopefully will be back soon cause it was a blast. 9/15-Alright so now we enter Germany, Rudedawgs favorite shows to play. He wanted to write about this shows cause he loves it so much but he’s out trollin so I’ll do it. Umm, tonight we played in Hamburg at some huge squat. The show was fucken Rad people singing along and a good atmosphere. Good Time. Casey scores strike number two! 9/16-Berlin. I had been here once before pretty cool place. Played at this rock-a-billy club which was cool. Show was probley the best so far. People dancing and drinking. Good Shit. 9/17-Mannheim. Yeah umm played with 9 Shocks Terror one last time. Then left to make are way to the Hedge. 9/18-Dordrecht. Back in Holland for one last show before we head to the UK. Awsome show at some I think new space. A lot of friends there good time was had by all even if we do have a short set. 9/19-Alright so that night, we make are way to the UK. We drive to France catch the boat everything is fine. On the boat Pete and Casey buy a six bottles of wine and a 30 pack of beer( which comes with a free hand cart, which was the selling point for them) for 30 buck at the tax free shop. Then we wait in traffic for I’m gonna say five hours but it was three. Got the first show in a town called Stoke on Trent and there was I think 8 people including Rudee and Casey. But hey what are you gonna do, i could of been in New Jersey of a Friday instead of England so you gotta roll with the punches I guess. 9/20-Leeds. Alright a awesome city. Walked around had lunch. Then Played some club called the Bassment. No I didn’t spell it wrong. That show was 150% better then they day before. Met a lot of cool people and had an amazing show. Then after the bands play they have a DJ spins some wax on the wheels of steel till the new day light. So after the show everyone got drunk and danced the the night away. Casey hits strike number 3 TRUE!!! 9/21-Newcastle. What a crazy city. A lot of old Castles and cobble stone street and all that jazz. Me D-love and Casey had really good Italian food. Played in the basement of some bar and the show was awesome as well. Stayed with are boy Lins and Company had at an awesome time. Watched Dirty Sanchez, that shit needs to be on in America. 9/22-Dundee. Scotland bud. Good Time again. Pete pissed on the border on Scotland and England played an awesome show and stayed with are boy Paul. No sign of the Lochness Monster. 9/23-Birmingham. So we had no direction to the show all we knew was it was at some place called the Flipper and Flapper. Which sounds like a strip club but alas wasn’t but was a cool bar next to the port there. The only probably was rats. Fuckin huge rats everywhere like “Adventures in Babysitting” style. Fuck that. The show as awesome though and stayed with Ellen. K-Oss hit’s strike four. Fuck Yeah! 9/24-Liverpool. Wake up extra early so we could go to the Beatles museum and and D.J.’s gay obsession with the L.F.C. So, we saw the stadium, D.J. buys a mouse pad and a jacket, then me, DJ and K-oss go to the Beatles museum and go walk around and see the Cavern where they first played and blah blah blah. Get to the show load are equipment in. Then come to find out that the guy called the night before and cancelled the show. It wasn’t the clubs fault but some limey tit who shall remain nameless. The persuader was almost put to use for the first time. 9/25-So, we start start are treck back to the fatherland as Rappin Rodney (Rudee’s new nick name) calls it for a day off before we start are second half of the tour. So that leaves us to where we are now. Hopefully someone will update this more even though i don’t think much read it. In other news, there are two more shows announced for the Bouncing Souls tour. One on October 31 in New Jersey at the Stone Pony Halloween Havoc! And a end of tour party Novermber 2nd at CBGB’s so go to ticketmaster or whatever and get to steppin’ cause I’m sure theses shows are gonna sell out. Alright people keep on keepin’ on. Just Don't Say It
Today we are back in Umeå on a much needed day off. So far the first week of tour has been excellent. Last night we played in Robertforst a small little village about 40 miles north of Umeå. The show was in a very small little space, but that just made it better. The crowd was very excited and energetic as we blazed through a 10 songs set. Probably one of the more fun shows we have played in recent memory. Its always great to play in front of 1000 kids in a big city, but sometimes a small little show in the middle of nowhere with 20 kids who really appreciate it can be much more rewarding. This was one of those nights. Only three more days left in Sweden, so i think i better take my day off and enjoy..... till next time DJ VÅLUES | | Tuesday, September 9th, 2003 | | 4:49 pm |
The True North
So here i sit on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in Umeå, Sweden. Things have been going rather well since we last spoke.... allow me to re-cap. Friday night we officially kicked of the tour in Holland at the ACU in Utrecht. Holland has always been the home away from home for us so it was a good way to start. With a sold out crowd we really rocked the house and it was great fucking time..... Saturday morning drive and ferry ride away was the always exciting city of Copenhagen. Here we met up with fellow American rockers 9 Shocks Terror, who we will be playing with for the next 5 shows.... not to much exciting happened this night... although Casey made a few friends!! Next on the Scandinavian experience was Linköping, a city that has proven to be very good for us in the past... This is one of the best venues in Europe without a doubt. Everyone involved with the show is awesome, the food was great, and they have really clean, warm showers!!!! Defiantly the best show of the tour so far. Yesterdays show was further north to Ostersund.... not a big crowd and a Monday night, but never the less a decent show... i guess that brings up to date. Umeå is one of our favorite cities so tonight should be a blast........ more to come.. DJ Vålues | | Saturday, September 6th, 2003 | | 6:22 pm |
K-oss and the pop star
I am Casey, Dj's brother, nickname K-oss, The Merch. guy for Let It Burn's Can't Party While You're Sleeping Tour. On Friday night in Reykjavik, while on a drunken quest for fried food, Pederson and I wandered into a joint packed with crazy drunken Icelandic folk and I noticed that there was a snobby, English-speaking dude getting loud with a black man, with an medallion of Africa around his neck, behind the counter. I curiously leaned in to hear more of the conversation when he came out and said to this guy behind the counter, "Go back to Africa you Bloody Wanker, get the fuck out of my country!" At this point I had to ask very sarcastially, "Where are you from, Australia?" This pompous Brit turns to me and says, "England, and Fuck off!" The black man behind the counter now is getting really furious and I am ready to mash my french fries into his face just to see what he would do when he turns and tries to shake my hand and apologize. I told him, "I have no need to shake your fucking hand you prick." I couldn't help noticing that all of the people in the place were sort of whispering and pointing at him as if he were a rock star or something, when Pedersen whispers in my ear, "Hey that is the guy from Blur" I said very loud "Who the fuck is Blur" just to see what he would say and he simply went on arguing with the man behind to counter, who happened to be Jamacan, not African by the way. He is being the biggest prick to this guy saying things like "just get my chips you fucking immigrant" and this star struck little girl comes running in with a camera to take a picture with him. He then puts on his happy face and poses for the girl. Mind you I had no idea who Blur was until Pete said it was the song that went, Whoo-Hoo! I am making all kids of sarcastic, belligerent remarks like "what, is there someone famous here?", and "take a picture of Pete, he is gonna be famous soon and he is not an asshole." Pete, Being the peacefull fellow that he is starts happy casual conversation with him about the places we were playing in England and he goes out of his way to say that they are all shitholes. Then Sharon walks in to get us and the guy ends up being pretty nice to us, thanks to Pedersen's diplomacy and the fact that he realized we wern't there with the American military. The outcome would have been very different had he not been the middle man. Later, when talking to some locals, they told me that he bought a house there and goes around being a total asshole to people. On top of that, he is allways getting his ass kicked by people left and right in that city because he is such a prick. I guess I missed my chance, but then I might be telling you a story that had something to do with an Icelandic prison as well. Cannot sacrifice the tour to beat up pompous, arrogant, racist, British pop-stars. | | Thursday, September 4th, 2003 | | 4:47 pm |
Northern lights and Icelandic nights
Hello all!! its been a while since the last update and i do apologize. There alot to tell so i will just get to it. Well, we started off the tour by flying into Keflavik Airport in beautiful Iceland. We arrived very early in the morning on Thursday the 28, but we were still ever eager to see all there was to see. The day started off with two newspaper interviews followed by a trip to the Blue Lagoon. the rest of the day was basically spent relaxing and trying to get rid of the jet-lag. Friday morning and a early 7am rise for me, as i was scheduled for two radio interviews this morning. After the radio business we all went our separate ways exploring Reykjavik.... (as i side note i would like to mention that we had to full color articles in two of Iceland's most read new papers!!!)..... now to the important stuff... the shows. Friday nights show was at the Grand Rokk, a very hip rock bar right in the downtown area.... by show time we were all ready to explode with excitement after being in the city for almost two days before we actually played. The show was jam packed with more than 150 people dancing and going crazy... it truly was awesome.... after the show we were escorted out in the city by the entire staff for the Grand Rokk and i must say they can party! The "cant party while you are sleeping" slogan was never before more true as we were out dancing and having blast until 9am! The Show the next day was also in the city center, but this time it was at a youth center called Hitt Husid. This show turned out to be ever better.. with more kids and more craziness, defiantly a fucking blast..... this show was followed by an after party with all our new friends back our new favorite pub, Grand Rokk. Iceland was an experience that was more than we could have ever expected. We were greeted with open arms from the moment we arrived. The two shows we played were fucking amazing and the people we met were amazing as well. i would like to thank anyone involved in helping us out in anyway, especially Birkir. without his help and hard work this would have never been possible, he is a truly great guy and most importantly a friend.... so to all of you in Iceland.... TAK!!!!!! pictures from Iceland are available here the page is all in Icelandic. but it´s almost like all other picture pages... http://www.dordingull.com/hardkjarni/photo/index.php3?dir=Erlendarsveitir.a.islandi%2FLet%20It%20Burn%2FI will write again soon DJ Values | | Monday, August 18th, 2003 | | 2:07 am |
Flat Tires, Broken mics and The Saw Mill
Hey everyone, So the first weekend of the tour is done and it was very eventful to say the least. The activities around the shows turned out to be, in fact, more memorable than the shows them selves. Friday night was the first show in Baltimore. ON the way to the show I rear-ended a car in traffic, that's always a good way to start out a tour. The show it self went all right, nothing special. We played a few new ones including "Tomorrow Is" and a a cover of The Manic Street Preachers "Masses Against the Classes." On the way home from the show we had a tire blow out, which turned out to be a result for the earlier accident. Saturday night brought us to Brooklyn's North Six. This show went pretty smooth, added "Kick It In, Kick It Out" into the set for the first time. Tonight's show was in our beloved Jersey Shore. Felt like tonight we played the best we did all weekend, good energy. Added "Angels Wings", an old song that we pulled from the vault for the tour. After the show we topped off the weekend with a trip to good old Seaside Boardwalk with The Break boys. Rudee was out of hand, spending about $50 and not winning anything, but a Dale Ernheart framed picture. Giant Slices of pizza from the Sawmill, topped off by zeppolis is always a good way to end my weekend........... tomorrow we go to Bloomfield..... The first time is never good
So first entrees always suck ... where do you start? What do I write about? Anyway here is goes.... Yesterday we went into the studio to record some new songs for a split we are releasing in Japan. Things went well, though we are not done and still have about another day in the studio until its all complete. The songs we are working on are entitled "Kick it in, Kick it out!" and "Tomorrow is?". The first being a real rock number. The original idea was to have a real T-Rex feel for this song, but it took a shape all its own and I think will soon become a live favorite. The second song is something a little different for us, a real flag waver, one that's going to make you want to sing at the top of your lungs and be stuck in your head for days. As I said we still have a day in the studio till we are done, but I'm very excited already. OK i guess that's it for now... | | Sunday, July 27th, 2003 | | 2:14 am |
